The difference between bullion and proof coins lies in their intended use, appearance, and production method:
- Bullion coins are mass-produced for investment purposes. They often display minor minting marks and are sold at lower premiums over the metal spot price.
- Proof coins are specially struck using polished dies and planchets to create a mirror-like finish and exceptional detail. They are intended for collectors and are usually presented in protective boxes or capsules.
At StoneX Bullion, unless specifically stated otherwise, all coins are bullion quality.
